Benjamin Goodman is a Lawyer in Shand Taylor Lawyer's Property & Commercial team based in our Fortitude Valley office.

 

Ben holds a Bachelor of Laws, Master of International Law and a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Business Law), all earned as a mature aged student after a long and varied business career. After working in the body corporate management area for over 10 years, including as Regional Manager of a national strata management firm, Ben embarked on his legal career, studying law with University of Southern Queensland and International Law with Griffith University.

 

Ben has extensive experience in the body corporate (strata) sector, ranging from community titles scheme development, community management statements, by-law reviews, advising committees, preparing applications for adjudication and management rights variations through to assisting with complex dispute resolution.

 

Ben’s experience in assisting bodies corporate and property owners to manage the variety of building maintenance and compliance issues that come with strata titled property gives him a breadth of experience and perspective that few other lawyers have. Having personally managed hundreds of bodies corporate throughout southeast Queensland before his law career, Ben’s real-life experience in both the building maintenance and the human issues affecting his clients, ensures he can approach legal issues practically, efficiently and proactively.

 

Ben can assist clients with many property and commercial law matters. Recent professional achievements include assisting a client to negotiate a successful settlement with a major bank after a three-year dispute and providing complex advice regarding Body Corporate matters for a publicly listed property development company.
