Jasmine Sharie is a Lawyer presently employed by Shand Taylor’s building and construction team. Jasmine holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the Queensland University of Technology.
 

She has previously worked for an employer association in the building and construction industry and has a wealth of experience in advising on issues regarding:

• contract preparation;

• contract review and risk minimisation;

• contract administration;

• payment disputes and the Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act 2017;

• licensing issues, defective works issues, minimum financial requirements (including auditing issues) and other statutory obligations under the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991;

• residential construction disputes; and

• commercial construction disputes.

Jasmine has recently been involved in a number of high-profile matters, including:

 

• acting for a demolition contractor in a $3M adjudication application;

• acting for a civil works contractor in a $6M Supreme Court dispute; and

• acting for a builder in the Supreme Court defending a complex claim for more than 100 alleged defects.

 

Jasmine is passionate about construction law and enjoys presenting at seminars and workshops to clients in the construction industry.
