We act for a number of prominent owners of shopping centers, industrial complexes, and commercial office buildings as well as tenants from a variety of backgrounds ranging from small businesses, international companies to national chain stores.

Our Expertise

Our team regularly assists clients with the following:

  • Drafting, negotiating, and finalising agreements for lease, leases, fit-out and incentive deeds, guarantees, and statutory disclosure statements on behalf of landlords, including the follow up of ancillary requirements such as bank guarantees and arranging registration of leases.

  • Reviewing and negotiating leases and associated documents on behalf of tenants.

  • Complying with the Retail Shop Leases Act 1994 (Qld), including meeting legislative timeframes, drafting compliant documents, and preparing and reviewing statutory disclosure statements.

  • Leasing of specialty sites such as service stations, licensed establishments, airports, and telecommunication sites.

  • Licensing of premises, common area trading, and car spaces.

  • Assignment, surrender, subletting of leases.

  • Reviewing and negotiating leases for franchisees.

  • Issuing and enforcement of notices to remedy a breach of lease covenants.

  • Recovering arrears and damages from defaulting tenants.
