Ruby Nielsen - Associate

Ruby NielsenRuby Nielsen is an Associate within our dispute resolution team.  Ruby holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in criminology and psychology from the University of Queensland. 

Ruby regularly advises both employers and employees on various issues arising in an employment context including termination of employment, unfair dismissal and adverse action claims, redundancy, workplace bullying and workplace investigations.  Ruby also provides advice in relation to the preparation and drafting of employment and independent contractor agreements and the interpretation of modern awards and other industrial agreements.

Ruby also regularly advises on building and construction law matters under the Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act and the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act relating to subcontractors' charges, building disputes and complaints, licensing and the review of decisions made by the Queensland Building and Construction Commission.  Ruby also provides advice on debt recovery options available to builders, engineers, architects and subcontractors and advice on defective works claims. 

Ruby advises individuals and businesses on issues arising in connection with the resumption of their land for infrastructure projects including preparing objections to land resumptions, claims for compensation and negotiating with resuming authorities including local Councils and State authorites.
